The King of Pop as he has been tagged is only one of the biggest achievements of this legendary music Icon. Born Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) in Gary, Indiana, this talented musician was the seventh of nine children in his family. Coming from a family of talented musicians he and his siblings formed a group known as the Jackson 5. However above everyone else, Michael shone and showed that he was the most talented and had the most promising career ahead of him often singing solos such as “Ben” and “I Got You”. This proved true when he started a solo career in 1971.

This album not just made Jackson’s mark as a pop star of his time, but it was able to break racial barriers and it paved a way for him to meet then President Ronald Regan. Following this, another of his albums known as Bad made a chart topping move as well in 1987. More than 30 million copies of this album have been sold worldwide. The most impressive thing about these hits was not only the performance that Michael Jackson gave with each one, but the fact that he also helped to write a lot of the songs in his albums.

Two other albums that Michael Jackson remains most known for both by music lovers and the industry itself is Billie Jean and Beat It. With the production of Billie Jean he was able to show how he used a promotional tool as a form of art with his performances. The same went for Beat it as he successfully broke racial and cultural barriers which existed for other artists in previous generations.
